Mets’ Juan Soto points out ‘impressive’ part of Knicks’ wild Game 4 win

As the New York Mets’ struggles have been well documented this season, there is no denying that a good portion of the same fans are enjoying the New York Knicks and their current 3-1 series lead in the NBA Finals over the San Antonio Spurs. With the Mets underperforming, the team is led by star Juan Soto, who was at Game 4 of the NBA Finals to watch the Knicks and spoke about the experience.

New York beat San Antonio in historic fashion on Wednesday, 107-106, completing the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history after being down 29 points, which is the largest deficit a team has come back from. Being at the game, Soto was asked on Thursday for his thoughts on whether seeing the fans rallying around the Knicks motivates him and the Mets.

“I mean, when you see the fans and how they get crazy like that, you know, it always motivates you to be at the top,” Soto said Thursday, via SNY Mets. “Definitely, like you say, it’s impressive, it’s motivating, you know. I would love to, all my teammates, to get to see how it was at Madison Square Garden on those NBA Finals games, and it was really cool to see, and how the fans, how they react, and everything. Even if they lost the game, they were really having fun and having a great time, and bringing the energy, you know, to cheer for the team, but yeah, it’s really cool to see.”

While the Knicks are achieving wonders, the Mets are disappointing

There was no doubt a sense of excitement from Soto in watching the Knicks being well on their way to achieve gold for the state, but there could also be a part of him that’s disappointed that the Mets are not in that same direction at the moment. While anything can happen, there’s no denying the underwhelming season New York has been having, as the team is currently 30-38, which puts them last in the NL East.

At any rate, Soto is currently batting a .277 batting average to go along with 14 home runs and 31 RBIs.
