Game 4 of the NBA Finals came down to the wire, as the New York Knicks managed to surmount an amazing 29-point comeback to earn a 107-106 win over the San Antonio Spurs. OG Anunoby made more than one incredible play late in the contest to help his team take a 3-1 series lead. His play was so good, in fact, that he is getting an official Appreciation Day in Manhattan.
Manhattan Borough President Brady Hoylman-Sigal declared that June 11, 2026 “OG Anunoby Appreciation Day.” While the Knicks have not yet won the title, at least the 28-year-old forward is being recognized in Manhattan’s history books.
“In my power as Manhattan Borough President, I have declared today OG Anunoby Appreciation Day in Manhattan,” claimed Hohlmn-Sigal.

The nine-year veteran was arguably the most efficient player in the Knicks’ Game 4 win on Wednesday. He ended the contest with 33 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block while shooting 66.6% from the floor and hitting seven of his nine three-point attempts.
In the closing seconds of the contest, Anunoby took advantage of De’Aaron Fox’s error. The Spurs guard should have tried to run out the clock, but instead went for a layup attempt. OG Anunoby got back on defense and blocked the shot to prevent San Antonio from taking a three-point lead.
Shortly after that, the stud two-way player miraculously tipped Jalen Brunson’s missed three-point attempt back into the hoop for two points, which ended up being the game-winning basket, to give the Knicks the 107-106 win. Without his efforts, the Knicks very well could have lost Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
