Former player Stephen Jackson had some choice words for New York Knicks fans after they threw objects at San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama after Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals.
New York fans are over the moon after seeing their team pull off a historic comeback for the ages. The Knicks came back from a 29-point deficit to beat the Spurs and go up 3-1 in the championship series. They are officially one win away from clinching their first title since 1973.
New York fans are right to have excitement towards the achievement that is within arm’s reach. However, some of them have taken to the extreme by throwing objects at Wembanyama after the game.
Jackson caught wind of the clips from the incident and provided his thoughts about it on social media. He represented the Spurs for four seasons throughout two separates stints (2001-03, 2012-13), winning a championship in 2003.
“If it was us…y’all would’ve got f***ed up,” Jackson said.

What lies ahead for Victor Wembanyama, Spurs
Stephen Jackson is not one to shy away from physicality, knowing that Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs have to fight back against the Knicks for the remainder of the NBA Finals.
San Antonio entered the championship series with significant momentum, dethroning the 2025 champions Oklahoma City Thunder in the West Finals after seven games. However, New York has been a difficult challenge for them as they trail 3-1 in the series after the first four games. This includes the Spurs losing their first two home contests in Games 1 and 2.
Wembanyama has been firm as the leading scorer with 27.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. Stephon Castle comes next with 16.8 points and 5.5 rebounds, while Dylan Harper provides 16.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest.
The Spurs hope to keep their season alive and force a Game 6 when they host the Knicks in Game 5. The contest will take place on June 13 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
