Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani exited the team’s 8-6 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday due to left knee inflammation. The Dodgers do not seem to be too concerned about the injury, but is Ohtani playing tonight vs. the Chicago White Sox?
Here’s everything we know about Shohei Ohtani’s injury status for tonight’s game.
Shohei Ohtani’s injury status vs. White Sox
While the Dodgers’ lineup for Friday night’s game has yet to be announced, Dave Roberts reportedly said his concern level about Ohtani’s injury is “not high,” according to Jack Harris of the California Post.
“Dave Roberts said his level of concern with Shohei Ohtani’s injury is ‘not high’ and that he feels good about Ohtani being back in the lineup tomorrow,” Harris reported after Thursday’s game.
The Dodgers will certainly proceed with caution. With that being said, they will likely have Ohtani in the lineup if he is feeling alright.
Ohtani is in the middle of another tremendous season. He is on track to win his fifth career MVP and fourth consecutive MVP.
So far this season, Ohtani is hitting .305/.421/.543 across 63 games played. He has 13 home runs and 15 doubles as well. Meanwhile, he has turned in a stellar 1.06 ERA on the mound to go along with 73 strikeouts. Ohtani could earn serious Cy Young consideration.
He is unquestionably the best overall player in the sport right now.
However, when it comes to the question of if Shohei Ohtani is playing tonight vs. the White Sox, the answer is uncertain.
