Knicks’ OG Anunoby breaks silence on epic NBA Finals Game 4 game-winner

New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby reflected on what the past 24 hours have been like after his game-winning shot in Game 4 sealed a historic 29-point comeback win, and a 3-1 lead against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals. All-Stars Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Anunoby helped lead the Knicks in Game 4.

Two days removed from sealing the greatest comeback in NBA playoff history, Anunoby, ahead of Game 5, revealed what it’s been like during the Knicks’ media availability.

“Everyone’s been telling me how much it means. I obviously see how much it means,” Anunoby said. “It’s just really cool to be a part of it, and I’m very grateful.”

The Knicks, with a 3-1 lead, are at the doorstep of the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

The Ringer’s Zach Lowe made his OG Anunoby MVP case for the NBA Finals after his block on Spurs’ De’Aaron Fox set up a put-back shot that closed out the Knicks’ improbable victory in Game 4.

“What a playoffs for OG Anunoby. He is averaging 21 points and six rebounds. Here’s his playoff shooting splits: 58% shooting, 51% on threes, 64% on twos,” said Lowe.

“In the finals, he is averaging 24 points a game on 58% shooting and 57% on threes, and despite averaging five and a half points less than Jalen Brunson and three and change assists less than Jalen Brunson, and Jalen Brunson having big moments in Games 1 and 2 in San Antonio, I think the Finals MVP right now would be OG Anunoby with a bullet.”

The Knicks will look to clinch a title on the road against the Spurs in Game 5 on Saturday.
