Bucks rumors: Milwaukee pursuing additional 2026 NBA Draft capital alongside Giannis trade

As rumors around Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo continue throughout the offseason, there are a few teams that are heavily rumored to be in the mix of acquiring the big man. While rumors will continue to swirl around the Bucks and Antetokounmpo, the latest reporting gives insight into what the team is looking for regarding draft capital.

The one team that has been considered the favorite to land Antetokounmpo is the Miami Heat, as NBA insider Jake Fischer says that in a potential deal with the team, Milwaukee would get the Heat’s No. 13 pick and other draft assets. However, Fischer also notes that on top of that, the team is “in search of a third top-20 pick” and maybe even one “in the top-10.”

“If Milwaukee does move forward with trading Giannis to Miami, the Bucks will assuredly receive the Heat’s No. 13 pick along with other draft capital,” Fischer wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “League sources say Milwaukee is also calling rival teams in search of a third top-20 pick, and potentially another pick in the top-10 ahead of the Bucks’ current 10th selection.”

Regarding a trade that the Bucks would take from the Heat, it would feature Tyler Herro and Kel’el Ware.

“It is widely presumed that the offer firmly on the table for Milwaukee calls for Miami to package Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. with prime draft capital,” Fischer wrote on Thursday.

What Heat’s offer could look like for Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo

There’s no denying that the Heat have been a main team in pursuit of Antetokounmpo, especially ahead of last February’s trade deadline, before the Bucks decided to keep him for the rest of the season.

Sam Amick and Eric Nehm of The Athletic would indicate that Miami is “widely seen as the frontrunner” for Antetokounmpo as of now. The package is “likely” to include not just Herro, Ware, and Jaquez, but also up to three first-round picks and either Pelle Larsson or Kasparas Jakucionis.

It remains to be seen where Milwaukee trades Antetokounmpo to and if they get the draft capital they seek.
