The New York Knicks returned to San Antonio on Thursday after defeating the Spurs in Game 4 by overcoming a 29-point deficit in the final minutes of regulation.
With the Knicks now just one game away from winning the NBA Championship, head coach Mike Brown is telling everyone to settle down just a bit. Despite what the Knicks have shown this postseason, closeout games are usually the toughest games of a series, and the Spurs will not go down without a fight.
Ahead of Saturday night’s Game 5 between the Knicks and Spurs, Brown explains how he’ll keep his team focused on the task at hand.
“The biggest thing is everybody has to stay present,” Mike Brown said during the team’s media availability Friday. “You have to stay present. you cant think about the outcome. It’s about the process. It’s just about the next play, the next play, the next play. Sometimes, you can think about the process and it doesn’t work out, but when you’re playing against other great teams especially, that’s how you have to take it because anybody’s mind can start wandering when you think about the outcome.”
