This has been something of a rocky offseason for the New England Patriots. After losing in the Super Bowl to the Seattle Seahawks, the Patriots have been involved in a controversy as head coach Mike Vrabel’s involvement in a personal relationship with a well-known NFL insider has led to unflattering headlines.

The Patriots are standing by their head coach, and that there is reason to believe the team is on track for another winning season. They have an excellent chance to return to the playoffs at the conclusion of the 2026 season. Third-year quarterback Drake Maye had a huge year in 2025, and the team recently added to its wide receiver crew.
The Patriots traded for star wide receiver A.J. Brown, and the former Philadelphia Eagle has a chance to be a game-changing player for the New England offense. Brown believes that he is joining an outstanding group of receivers who will have a chance to dominate the competition in the AFC East.
“The talent is stacked,” Brown said after the team’s latest OTA session. “That’s what you want. You want talent and you want players who are going to push each other. That’s what we have here.”
Brown is going into his eighth NFL season after spending the last four seasons with the Eagles. Brown has exceeded the 1,000-yard mark in six of his seven NFL seasons. He had his most productive season in 2023 when he caught 106 passes for 1,456 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Brown joins a WR room that includes former Green Bay Packer Romeo Doubs, Mack Hollins, Kayshon Boutte and tight end Hunter Henry.
