Kenneth Walker III didn’t attend Seahawks’ Super Bowl ring ceremony after Chiefs signing

After his high-profile departure from the Seattle Seahawks in free agency, newly signed Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III expressed his intention to maintain his tight bond with former backfield partner Zach Charbonnet. Despite media attempts to create a rift over shared rushing responsibilities in Seattle, Walker emphasized that he and Charbonnet remain incredibly close and continue to communicate daily, regardless of their different NFL franchises.

This transition has shifted Walker’s focus entirely toward his future. NBC Sports recently reported that while the Seahawks gathered on Thursday evening to celebrate their historic championship and receive their rings, the reigning Super Bowl MVP was notably absent. Although Walker had previously stated his intention to attend during an appearance on the PFTPM podcast, sources confirmed that he was the only member of the 2025 roster who did not show up for the event.

The most logical explanation for his absence appears to be scheduling conflicts, as the Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp concluded that same Thursday. Ultimately, Walker prioritized his commitments to his new team, opting to look forward rather than backward. For him, it was time to turn the page and focus on pursuing his second consecutive championship ring while helping quarterback Patrick Mahomes capture his fourth Lombardi Trophy.

This shift is not entirely surprising given Walker’s mindset over the past year. He revealed that he realized midway through the 2025 season that his future did not include staying in Seattle, explaining that things weren’t working out as he had initially anticipated.

Although this realization ultimately benefited the team’s title run, it paved the way for his free agency, where Kansas City eagerly signed him to a lucrative contract featuring $27 million in guaranteed money over the first two years.
