The New York Knicks are just one win away from taking their first NBA Finals championship in more than 50 years. New York’s OG Anunoby was the hero of Game 4, scoring the game-winning basket tip in with just a few seconds left in the contest.
Anunoby is now joining a very exclusive list in the league’s history, following that performance. Clutchpoints has learned he and Michael Jordan are the only two players to record a block or steal and hit the game-winner in the last 30 seconds of the Finals.

Jordan accomplished that feat in 1998, which was the last season he won a championship with the Chicago Bulls. It remains to be seen if the Knicks will win the Finals this year. New York leads the San Antonio Spurs, 3-1.
Anunoby had 33 points in Game 4. He went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. The defensive specialist etched his name into Knicks lore with that fearless performance.
“It’s really cool,” Anunoby said about his team’s run in the Finals, per the New York Post. “Just everyone has been telling me how much it means, and obviously I can see how much it means. It’s just really cool to be a part of it, and I’m very grateful.”
Anunoby’s Knicks teammates were in awe of his heroics.
“I tried to explain it to him, but you know OG barely gives you any reaction,” Karl-Anthony Towns said. “So I don’t know if he’s understanding it or not. Like you said, it’s a great moment. It’s one of the best sports moments in New York history. But we’ve got to solidify it with one more win.”
The Knicks last made the Finals in 1999. Ironically, they lost that year to the Spurs. New York has a chance to take some revenge with just one more win in this year’s Finals.
Game 5 is in San Antonio on Saturday night. The opening tip-off is at 8:30 ET.
